The Rhome and Aurora Police Department invite Reunion residents to the 40th annual “National Night Out” celebration on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Residents are asked to turn on their outside lights and spend the evening outdoors with their neighbors, police officers, firefighters, and other City officials. 
DPS will have their bus on site completing free IdentiKits for any and all kiddos. There will be enormous tow trucks from American Tow Company, police cruisers, fire trucks, and other first-response vehicles. Rhome Fire Department will give a live demonstration of a Jaws of Life rescue. There will be a police drone
We will grill hot dogs and hamburgers, cotton candy, and Kona Ice: ALL OF THIS IS FREE!
There will be bounce houses, face painters, balloon artists, and some seriously catchy music coming from the DJ.
The Rhome Police Department, Aurora Police Department, Bluestem Community, and Reunion Community are partnering this year to show their support for our officers and a vow to work as one to keep our community safe.

Residents and their guests will enjoy artist-led, step-by-step painting instruction so that by the end of the evening, they'll have their canvas paintings to hang in their brand-new homes. Wine and snacks will be included, but you may certainly BYOB. This event is free, but registration is required. There are only twenty spots available, so register quickly! This will be so much fun!
 
 
DEA National Drug Take Back Day

The drug overdose epidemic in the United States is a clear and present public health, public safety, and national security threat. DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day reflects DEA’s commitment to Americans’ safety and health, encouraging the public to remove unneeded medications from their homes to prevent medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting.
 
Officers with the Rhome Police Department will accept unused and leftover medications on Saturday, October 28th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Our drive-thru drop-off location is the Rhome Community Center at 261 School Road, right next to the Fire Station. Take the time to look through your medicine cabinets, and please bring us any unused and unneeded medications for disposal.
